On Saturday, November 23, 1996, Orlando Jai-Alai unveiled a new 340-seat Las Vegas-style race book to accommodate the fronton's loyal simulcast players. "The Race Book at Orlando Jai-Alai" is open for thoroughbred, harness, and Jai-alai action. The premier simulcast facility in Central Florida features thirty state-of-the-art, DLP,  65-inch big screen televisions, 340 individual carrels (handicapping work stations) with 9-inch televisions, and a booming audio system.

The Race Book also includes a simulcast information center, featuring complete race day changes and official prices for all the tracks simulcast on a particular day.
Audio in the Race Book is operated by a sound technician, who integrates all the track feeds, including race calls, into a comprehensive and entertaining simulcast presentation.

For fans wishing to listen to the entire audio feed from an individual track, headphones for the 9-inch televisions are available for purchase for $4.50.  Fans can retain these headphones for future visits to the Race Book.

Admission for live and simulcast performances will remain at $1. All seating in the Race Book is general admission and costs $1. Seating in the race book lobby is free! Programs, Daily Racing Forms, Recap Sheets to be used in conjunction with the Daily Racing Form, headphones for the 9" televisions and carrel seating tickets are all available for purchase on the third floor.

The Race Book at Orlando Jai-Alai features the most comprehensive simulcast schedule in Central Florida. Thoroughbred simulcasts include the popular South Florida circuit of Gulfstream Park and Calder Race Course; the New York circuit of Aqueduct, Belmont, and Saratoga, plus selected race cards from Kentucky, Maryland, Illinois, Northern and Southern California. Jai-Alai simulcasts feature full cards from Miami and Dania.
